The Gambia Bar Association
The Gambia Bar Association (GBA) is one of the oldest professional bodies in The Gambia, consisting of lawyers enrolled as legal practitioners in the country. As the governing body of the Bar, the GBA's core mandate, as provided in its Constitution, is to maintain the standards, integrity, honour, and independence of the Bar. It aims to promote, preserve, and improve the services and functions of the Bar, and to represent and act for the Bar in matters affecting the administration of justice.

Who We Are
The exact date on which Gambia Bar Association was established is not yet known, but available information indicates that it has been around since the colonial era making it one of the oldest Bar Associations in Africa.
Mission
To represent its members and contribute in the strengthening of participatory legal development, the rule of law and human rights standards in the Gambia.
Vision
GBA seeks an enlightened and transparent legal environment in the Gambia in which the rule of law is upheld, access to justice is assured and the protection and integrity of the legal profession is guaranteed.
