Salieu Taal

Salieu Taal holds an Upper Second Degree in Law from the University of Buckingham and a Masters of Degree in International Relations from the London Centre for International Relations, University of Kent. He is a Barrister at Law of England and Wales of the Honourable Inner Temple in 1999 and also enrolled as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of the Gambia in 2002. Mr. Taal has served in the Executive of the Gambia Bar Association as Secretary, Vice President and as the recent Past President of the Gambia Bar Association.

Mr. Taal is a passionate advocate for the rule of law, human rights, good governance and transitional justice. In 2016, he co-founded #GambiaHasDecided a pro-democracy movement in December 2016 . He is actively involved in numerous civil society initiatives /coalitions promoting good governance, freedom of assembly/expression and access to information. Mr. Taal is an active member of the Pan-African Lawyers Union, Council Member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association and the International Bar Association.

Mr. Taal is the principal of Temple Legal Practitioners and is a seasoned transaction lawyer with a wealth of experience in property, ICT, banking, corporate governance and corporate law. Mr. Taal sits on a number of boards in both the private and non-governmental sector
